Jonathan Pryde (57) had edited the Courier for fifteen years. On Thursday night he told the newsroom he was holding the front page for 'the biggest story this paper has run'.

Security saw him walk into the print hall at 23:28. He was found there at 00:20, struck with a steel bar from the plate store.
