Dr Cyril Hatch (61) had been organist of Marrowmoor Minster for twenty-two years. During the choir's tea break before Evensong, he stayed in the organ loft to practise.
At 18:31 the verger found him on the stone floor of the north choir aisle, six metres below the loft gallery.
The Dean would like it to have been an accident. The pathologist is less sure. Establish what happened, then when, then why.
